Static Tracking Campaigns
Simple click tracking for any print or display material
Use when you want to track engagement with print materials but don't need voucher redemption. Perfect for: business cards, leaflets, posters that link to your website.
How It Works
A tracking campaign creates a QR code that:
- Records the scan (time, device, location)
- Optionally captures email/name
- Redirects to your chosen URL
No vouchers, no redemption — just clean tracking and lead capture.
Creating a Static Tracking Campaign
1. Start a New Campaign
From your dashboard, click New Campaign and select 📈 Tracking (Static).
2. Set Campaign Details
- Campaign Name — Internal reference (e.g., "Feb Business Cards")
- Destination URL — Where to redirect after scanning
- Lead Capture — On/Off (ask for email before redirecting)
3. Configure Lead Capture (Optional)
If lead capture is enabled, you can customise:
- Headline — "Stay in touch" / "Get updates"
- Description — Why they should share their email
- Fields — Email only, or Email + Name
- Skip Option — Allow skipping lead capture
4. Create & Get Your QR Code
Click Create Campaign to get your tracking QR code.
Use Cases
Track how many people scan your card. See which events/meetings generate the most scans.
Different QR codes on different pages show which content drives engagement.
Track engagement at trade shows, conferences, or networking events.
Measure response to magazine ads, newspaper inserts, or sponsored content.
What You Can Track
For each scan, VoucherTrack records:
- Timestamp — Exact time of scan
- Device Type — Mobile / Desktop
- Operating System — iOS, Android, etc.
- Approximate Location — City-level from IP
- Referrer — Where they came from (if applicable)
Static vs DM Tracking
| Feature | Static Tracking | DM Tracking |
|---|---|---|
| QR Codes | One code for everyone | Unique per recipient |
| Tracking | Total scans | Which specific recipient scanned |
| Best for | Posters, cards, brochures | Addressed mail, personalised letters |
| Setup | Instant — one QR | Generate codes, export for print |
UTM Parameters
The redirect URL can include UTM parameters for Google Analytics:
https://yoursite.com/?utm_source=print&utm_medium=qr&utm_campaign=feb-brochure
This lets you see QR traffic alongside other channels in your analytics.
Create separate tracking campaigns for different materials (e.g., "Business Cards A5" vs "Trade Show Poster"). This shows which placements perform best.
