Generating Voucher Codes

Create batches of unique codes for Direct Mail campaigns

Applies to: Direct Mail campaigns

Static campaigns use a single QR code and don't need code generation. This guide is for campaigns with unique codes per recipient.

How Codes Work

Each voucher code is unique and can only be redeemed once. Codes are:

  • Unique — No duplicates, ever
  • Trackable — See which specific code was scanned/redeemed
  • Scannable — Each code has its own QR code
  • One-time use — Marked as redeemed after use

Generating Codes

Step 1: Open Your Campaign

Navigate to your Direct Mail campaign dashboard.

Step 2: Find Bulk Generation

Look for the Bulk Voucher Generation section on the campaign page.

Step 3: Set Quantity

Enter the number of codes you need. This should match your mailing list size.

Limits: Up to 10,000 codes per batch. Need more? Generate multiple batches.

Step 4: Optional Prefix

Add a prefix to make codes easier to identify:

  • No prefix: A7K3M2
  • With prefix "JAN": JAN-A7K3M2
  • With prefix "FEB26": FEB26-X9P2Q4

Prefixes are limited to 6 characters, letters and numbers only.

Step 5: Generate

Click Generate Vouchers. Codes are created instantly — even 10,000 takes just a few seconds.

Code Format

Generated codes follow this format:

[PREFIX-]XXXXXX
6 characters: letters A-Z and numbers 0-9

Codes are designed to be:

  • Short — Easy to type if QR won't scan
  • Unambiguous — No confusing characters (0/O, 1/I)
  • Case-insensitive — Works regardless of caps

Generating More Codes

Need more codes for the same campaign? No problem:

  1. Go back to Bulk Generation
  2. Enter the additional quantity needed
  3. Generate again

New codes are added to the same campaign. You can generate multiple batches over time — useful for ongoing mailings.

Exporting for Print

After generating, you'll want to export the codes for your print production:

📄 CSV Only

Spreadsheet with codes and URLs. Use if your print software generates QR codes.

  • • code
  • • redemption_url
  • • created_at
📦 ZIP Bundle

CSV plus a folder of print-ready QR code images (300 DPI PNG).

  • • vouchers.csv
  • • qr_codes/JAN-A7K3M2.png
  • • qr_codes/JAN-B8L4N3.png ...

QR Code Sizes

When exporting as ZIP, choose your QR code size:

Size Dimensions Best For
Small 20mm × 20mm Business cards, small labels
Medium 30mm × 30mm Postcards, letters
Large 40mm × 40mm A5 flyers, posters

All exports are 300 DPI — suitable for professional print.

💡 Pro Tip

Generate a few extra codes (5-10%) as buffer for print errors or reprints. Unused codes don't cost anything — they just sit there.
